Gary Wears Tape
In this segment of “They Should Wear BirdieWrap,” we’re talking about Gary Woodland.
2019 was a big year for Gary. After his US Open win at Pebble Beach, he ranked in the top 10 in the World Gold Ranking. Then, in 2020, he represented the U.S. at the Tokyo Olympics.
This past year, though, Gary has made news for something much more significant than golf and the sports tape he wears on his fingers.
In September 2023, he underwent surgery to remove a lesion from his brain and has been very open about how it affected him and his golf game. Despite all of that, he made a comeback to the PGA tour in January 2024, just five months after his surgery! — Such a huge inspiration! 👏👏👏
Understandably, though, Gary has had some struggles since coming back—physically and mentally. He even felt that he might have come back too early. But at the Charles Schwab Challenge, he reveled in a six-under-par 64, his best round of the season, brightening the looks of things.
Hopefully, Gary can have a 2025 season he’s proud of - we know he’s still got it in him! Everyone’s pulling for him—including the BirdieWrap team.
