Article: Lexi Wears Tape
Lexi Wears Tape
Lexi Thompson is another great player who wears generic sports tape (instead of BirdieWrap) to protect her hands from blisters and calluses.
We all know Lexi is kind of a big deal. Naturally, we’ve been seeing plenty of her in the news this season since she announced that 2024 would be her last with a full tour schedule. Lexi is only 29 but has already had a legendary career. In 2007, at age 12, she became the youngest player at the time to qualify at for the U.S. Women’s Open. At 16, she set a new record as the youngest to ever win an LPGA tournament. And at 19, she became the second youngest player to ever win a Major.
After her many achievements, she made the emotional announcement at the U.S. Women’s Open on May 28th that she would be retiring. And even though we’re sad to see her go (or not be in as many tournaments), it’s good to see her leave on her terms to have more time for herself and her family, as she mentioned. We were stoked to have been able to watch her play at Sahalee earlier this summer at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship.
So, for now, it looks like we won’t see our golf sports tape on her fingers during tournaments, even though we know she’ll still be playing the game she loves off-camera. And that’s fine! We’re not trying to be famous or anything. 👀 We’re just offering to help. 🙂 Lexi, whenever you want help with that grip, we’ve got you!
